Usman Ali is a portfolio manager and the head of quantitative equity research at PIMCO, where they oversee global long-short and long-only quantitative equity strategies. Prior to this, they served as a consultant at Research Affiliates in 2020 and spent a decade as a portfolio manager at MIG Capital, developing quantitative equity strategies across various markets with consistent outperformance over benchmarks. Usman earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Finance/Economics from Yale University in 2009.
