Larry Backman has a diverse range of work experience in the environmental industry. Larry started their career in 1989 as an Environmental Officer at the Ministry of the Environment. Larry then worked at Water & Earth Sciences Associates as a Senior Environmental Auditor and Director of Marketing, where they developed guidelines for junior auditors and coordinated marketing activities.
After that, Larry joined O'Connor Associates Environmental Inc. as a Branch Manager in Calgary. Larry then moved to AMEC Earth Environmental, where they held various roles, including Vice President of Client Services for Eastern Canada and Office Manager/Vice President for Central-Eastern Ontario. During their time at AMEC, they played a crucial role in establishing the Strategic Relationship Management program and led financial due diligence efforts.
Currently, Larry is the Executive Vice President of National Accounts at Pinchin Ltd. In this role, they are responsible for building and maintaining relationships with senior executives in commercial real estate and banking organizations. Their main focus is helping clients understand and navigate environmental risks in property transactions. Larry also previously held the position of Senior Vice President of National Accounts at Pinchin Ltd., where they worked closely with offices across Canada to ensure consistent messaging to clients.
Throughout their career, Larry has demonstrated strong values of trust, loyalty, and respect, which have contributed to their long-term relationships with clients.
Larry Backman completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Geology from Acadia University in 1987.
