Chris Monahan

Chris Monahan has extensive work experience in the legal field, particularly in roles related to risk management, compliance, and general counsel. Their current position is SVP of Risk and Compliance at Pine Gate Renewables since 2024. Previously, they served as the Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel at Sunworks, Inc. from 2022 to 2024. Prior to that, they worked as General Counsel at Thermal Engineering International (USA) Inc. in 2021 and as Deputy General Counsel at Parsons Corporation from 2016 to 2021. Chris also held the position of Chief Legal Counsel Asia Pacific at AECOM in 2015 and Group Legal Counsel - Asia and Asia Pacific at URS Corporation from 2009 to 2015. Before transitioning to in-house roles, they were a Shareholder at Morgan Miller Blair and started their legal career as a Litigation Associate at Hanson Bridgett LLP.

Chris Monahan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach. Chris also obtained a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California. Additionally, Chris has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Accounting from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Chris holds a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Graduate Certificate in Construction Management from the University of California, Los Angeles. Furthermore, they completed their LLM in Business Law at the University of Sydney Law School. Chris has additional certifications as a Patent Attorney from the United States Patent & Trademark Office, as an Attorney from the California State Bar Association, as a Professional Engineer (PE) from the California Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, and as a Solicitor from the New South Wales Bar Association.
