Derek Sackler

Derek Sackler currently serves as the Director of Development at Pine Gate Renewables since August 2020, focusing on utility-scale offtake and new market strategies in the Southeastern region. Prior to this role, Derek held the position of Associate Director of Development at NextEra Energy Resources, where responsibilities included managing M&A projects in distributed generation. Earlier experience includes working as an Energy Markets Consultant at PA Consulting Group, providing market advisory and analytics for significant energy infrastructure M&A, and as a Real Time Energy Trader at Entegra Power Group, overseeing power trading and scheduling for combined-cycle assets. Derek holds a Master of Science in Finance and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Applied Economics, all from Florida State University.
