Maggie Sasser has extensive work experience in the renewable energy industry and government affairs. Maggie is currently the Vice President of Government and External Affairs at Pine Gate Renewables, a position they started in June 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Government Affairs at Pine Gate Renewables from October 2020 to June 2022. In addition to their current role, Maggie also holds positions on the Board of Directors for the Solar Energy Industries Association, the Board of Directors for the Mid-Atlantic Renewable Energy Association Inc, and the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Clean Energy Business Alliance. Maggie was also a Policy Council Member for the South Carolina Solar Business Alliance from January 2019 to January 2021, and a Board Member for the Chesapeake Solar & Storage Association from January 2018 to October 2020. Maggie previously worked as the State Affairs Senior Manager for the Southeast region at the Solar Energy Industries Association from June 2016 to October 2020, and as the Manager & Director of Government Affairs at the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association from May 2014 to June 2016. Maggie'searlier work experience includes a role as a Teaching Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from September 2013 to November 2013.
Maggie Sasser holds a Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy with minors in Sustainability and Hispanic Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Maggie also completed Summer Courses in Renewable Energy Systems at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad. In 2014, they obtained a LEED AP Building Design + Construction certification from the US Green Building Council.
