Mary Selby's work experience includes:
- Director of Special Housing Projects at Pine Street Inn since February 2022.
- Senior Accreditation Coordinator at Council on Accreditation from January 2020 to August 2021. Prior to that, they were an Accreditation Coordinator, where they worked with a caseload of 50 social service providers nationwide to promote best organizational practices.
- Tri-State Prison Program Manager at Defy Ventures from August 2017 to May 2018.
- Care Coordinator at The Alliance for Positive Change from August 2013 to June 2015.
Mary Selby received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Spanish and Latin American Cultures, with a focus on Human Rights, from Barnard College in 2013. Mary then went on to pursue a Master of Development Practice (MDP) degree at the University of California, Berkeley from 2015 to 2017, specializing in Development Economics and International Development.

Pine Street Inn welcomes nearly 2,000 homeless individuals daily to provide short- and long-term solutions so that they can begin the journey out of homelessness and on to permanent housing.
