The current Clerk and Comptroller, Ken Burke, was sworn in January 4, 2005 and was re-elected without opposition in 2008, 2012 and again in 2016. The Clerk manages all courthouse records, a local budget of approximately $43 million and over 500 employees. Over the years the Clerk has assumed more than 1,000 individual statutory duties as delegated by the Florida Legislature. Ken fulfills several duties as Clerk of the Circuit and County Court, Recorder of Deeds, Clerk and Accountant of the Board of County Commissioners, Custodian of all County funds, County Auditor, and Elected Official. The scope of the activities in the Clerk’s office affects everyone's life on a daily basis. Whether acting as a partner in the court system, maintaining government accountability, or preserving public records, the Clerk and his staff work hard on your behalf.
