Lucas Mitzel has a diverse work experience. Lucas began their career at ESPN as a Production Intern in 2009, where they focused on cutting audio game highlights for various Chicago sports teams. In 2010, they interned at WGN Radio AM 720, primarily working in the newsroom, researching and writing news stories.
From 2007 to 2011, Lucas worked at North Central College in different roles. As an On Air Staff at WONC, they worked a weekly music shift and took song requests. Lucas also served as the Station Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the radio station and mentoring a staff of 60-70 students. Additionally, they were the Assistant Sports Director, responsible for coordinating sports-related programming and arranging broadcasting for various school events.
In 2011, Lucas briefly worked as a Broadcast Producer at Cumulus Media, where they ran the board for IHSA football and basketball games and broadcasted satellite feeds for University of Illinois games.
Lucas joined HERE Technologies in 2012 as a Senior Traffic Editor, monitoring web, email, and social media resources for traffic incidents and updating a database to push out information to various platforms.
Most recently, Lucas worked at Pinnacle Advertising as a Traffic Manager starting in 2018.
Lucas Mitzel earned a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from North Central College, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in Sports Leadership from the same institution, completing their studies from 2015 to 2018.
