Karthik Ponnusamy

Karthik Ponnusamy is an experienced orthopaedic surgeon currently practicing at Pinnacle Orthopaedics since August 2017. Prior to this role, Karthik completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Western University from August 2016 to July 2017 and served as an orthopaedic surgery resident at Johns Hopkins Hospital from June 2011 to June 2016. Karthik's early experience includes clinical engineering internships at Intuitive Surgical, where assessments were made on intraoperative nerve detection technologies and novel spinal surgery procedures for the da Vinci Surgical system. Karthik also served as the design team leader at Johns Hopkins University, successfully developing a spinal screw system for osteoporotic patients and licensing the technology for commercialization. Karthik holds a Master of Science in Surgery from Western University, an MD from Stanford University School of Medicine, and multiple degrees in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University.
