Andrew Cooper is vice president and treasurer for Pinnacle West Capital Corporation and its primary subsidiary, Arizona Public Service Company (APS), Arizona’s largest electric company. The companies are headquartered in Phoenix.
Cooper is responsible for the organization’s treasury, corporate finance, banking and trust investment activities, including relationships with financial institutions and credit rating agencies.
Before joining Pinnacle West in 2020, Cooper was director of corporate finance at Consolidated Edison Company of New York. In this role, he developed and implemented the company’s capital structure and allocation strategies and managed equity and debt capital raising for Con Edison’s parent company and all regulated and non-utility subsidiaries. Cooper was also responsible for liquidity forecasting, cost of capital testimony and relationships with banks and credit rating agencies.
Prior to joining Con Edison, Cooper was director, power and utilities investment banking with Barclays, where he had responsibility for managing regulated electric and gas utilities and renewable energy client relationships and also leading the execution of their financing and strategic transactions.
Cooper earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in government with citation in Spanish from Harvard College. He went on to earn his law degree from Harvard Law School and has been a member of the New York Bar since 2007.
