Mara Wheeler

Mara Wheeler has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. From 2004 to 2008, they worked as a Speech Language Pathologist, providing speech therapy to children with various speech disabilities in both school and private practice settings. In 2008, they joined Red Robin as an Executive Director, a position they held for 10 years until 2018. Mara then joined The Gathering Place in 2018 as a Business Relations Manager. Since 2019, Mara has been working at Pinnacol Assurance, initially as the Corporate Citizenship Program Admin & Pinnacol Foundation Executive Director, and then as the Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility & Pinnacol Foundation Executive Director. In these roles, they have been responsible for managing and overseeing corporate social responsibility programs, including grantmaking, emergency response, and corporate volunteering. Mara has also played a key role in the Pinnacol Foundation scholarship program, running board meetings, managing annual events, and handling financial reporting. Additionally, they have been involved in philanthropic efforts and has partnered on Diversity Equity & Inclusion company strategies. Throughout their career, Mara has cultivated relationships with executives, board members, community partners, and nonprofit organizations.

Mara Wheeler started their education at the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2000, where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Audiology/Audiologist and Speech-Language Pathology/Pathologist. Mara completed this degree in 2004. In 2020, they also obtained a Certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility from the University of Colorado Boulder.
