Chris Velazquez

Chris Velazquez is an experienced Engineering Manager currently leading Pinterest's Corporate Security Engineering team since November 2022, directly reporting to the Chief Security Officer. Prior to joining Pinterest, Chris held various roles at Southern California Edison from June 2013 to November 2022, including Manager of Cybersecurity Tools Architecture/Engineering, where leadership of a team of cybersecurity engineers was emphasized, and contributions were made to develop both interns and junior team members. Earlier positions included Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, focusing on the architecture and implementation of security technologies in IT and OT environments, and Cybersecurity Engineer, handling incident response and digital forensics. Chris holds a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity from California State University-San Bernardino, and an Associate's degree in Business Administration from Riverside City College.
