Pioneer Community Energy

Pioneer Community Energy is the locally owned, not-for-profit electric energy provider for Grass Valley, Nevada City, Placer and El Dorado counties, Auburn, Colfax, Lincoln, Placerville, Rocklin, and the town of Loomis. The Pioneer Governing Board is comprised of representatives from each of its member agencies. Pioneer Community Energy is committed to helping customers save money, supporting local economic development, and offering our exclusive 100% renewable energy option for customers who choose it. Between 2018 and 2023, Pioneer has saved customers nearly $85 million. Pioneer procures the electric supply and related products, while PG&E transmits and delivers the electric power over PG&E’s poles and wires. Pioneer currently provides retail electric generation service to approximately 160,000+ accounts in its service territory, including 40,000+ NEM solar customers. Approximately 18% of Pioneer’s customers are NEM solar customers.
