Neel Murthy

Senior Venture Partner at Pioneer Fund

Neel Murthy is currently a Senior Venture Partner at Pioneer Fund. Prior to that, they were the Chief Innovation Officer at Safe Deposit Box Insurance Coverage, LLC (SDBIC) from August 2017 to February 2018. There, they acquired Swapbox in 2017 and helped transition the product while providing solutions on how Swabpox and other new technologies could help innovate their suite of offerings to customers and clients. From January 2013 to March 2013, they were with Y Combinator as part of the W13 Batch. And from July 2011 to December 2011, they worked as a Product Manager at Zynga where they were responsible for creating specs and launching new features for WWF on Facebook, including the popular game board screen shot feature that allowed users to share the cool/exciting words they played with their friends. Neel also managed statistical analysis (post-mortem and expected numbers) for their own features as well as already existing ones. Prior to that, they worked as a software engineer on Scramble With Friends and built a sizable portion of the game.

Neel Murthy received a Master of Science degree in business administration and management from Stanford University, as well as an MBA from Y Combinator. Neel also holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Stanford University.
