Maria Mahoney

Maria Mahoney is an experienced social worker and marketing coordinator with a diverse background in education, mental health, and community outreach. Currently serving as a School Social Worker for Fairfax County Public Schools since March 2019, Maria also coordinates brand marketing and events for Blue Star Families since February 2018. Previous roles include social media monitoring at Pioneer Utility Resources and leadership positions at Blue Star Families and the Military Child Education Coalition, where Maria trained parents to advocate for their children. With prior experience at the Rape Crisis Center of the Coastal Empire and various internships, Maria has a strong foundation in counseling and prevention services, particularly within military communities. Maria holds a Master of Social Work from The University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Boston University.
