Karolin Kaplan

Karolin Kaplan has a diverse range of work experience in the design industry. Karolin began their career as a Freelance Packaging Designer at LuLu Oü in 2013. Karolin then worked as a Freelance Designer at Tehnolabor Oü from March to August 2013. In 2014, they worked as a Freelance Lighting Designer at Halonor Oü for two months.

In 2015, Karolin worked in multiple freelance roles, including as a Freelance Graphic Designer at Brandem Baltic Oü from January to May, and as a Freelance Industrial Designer at Odasho Oü from February to May. Karolin also had a brief role as a Graphic/Product Design Trainee at Scintilla in June. Additionally, they led an upcycling workshop at SA UUE KUNSTI MUUSEUM for one day.

Karolin Kaplan's career progressed in 2016 when they joined Pipedrive as a Product Design Intern. Karolin worked in a group of three designers on a design project and participated in design reviews and mentoring sessions. Karolin began their full-time roles at Pipedrive as a Junior Product Designer in November 2016. Karolin later transitioned to become a Product Designer in November 2017 and further advanced to a Senior Product Designer in January 2021. In their role as a Senior Product Designer, they closely collaborated with Product Managers, defined user needs, delivered solutions, and monitored their impact. Karolin also worked on defining the long-term vision for the area.

Most recently, Karolin Kaplan became the Design Lead at Pipedrive in July 2021. In this position, they focused on developing, implementing, and iterating best practices in design processes. Karolin worked closely with designers and leadership to empower designers to deliver high-quality product solutions. Additionally, they coached designers on best practices and mentored them for workload balance and career success.

Karolin Kaplan obtained a Master's Degree in Industrial and Product Design from the Estonian Academy of Arts. This education took place from 2011 to 2017. Furthermore, they pursued another Master's Degree in Interaction Design from The Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO) from 2015 to 2016. Additionally, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial and Product Design at Willem de Kooning Academy Rotterdam from 2013 to 2014.

In terms of additional certifications, Karolin Kaplan received the "Foundations in Creative Leadership Credential" from IDEO U in August 2022. Karolin also obtained the certification for "Leading for Creativity" from the same institution in August 2022. Moreover, they completed the certification for "Storytelling for Influence" from IDEO U in April 2022. Finally, in August 2021, they obtained the certification for "Cultivating Creative Collaboration" from IDEO U.
