Ioannis Petropoulos

Ioannis Petropoulos, FRM is currently the Head of Risk Strategy | ESG & Climate Risk at Piraeus Bank since January 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Barclays as a Senior Quantitative Manager from September 2016 to December 2019. Ioannis also held the position of Senior Credit Risk Analyst at Santander UK Corporate & Commercial from September 2014 to September 2016. Before that, they worked at Experian as a Solutions Analyst from June 2013 to September 2014 and as a Business Analyst from June 2010 to September 2013. Additionally, Ioannis gained experience as part of a Field Study Project at GRANT THORNTON, where they developed a model for forecasting monthly P&L and Cash Flow Statements for SMEs, earning recognition for the best field study project of the academic year 2008-2009. Ioannis started their career as an Intern at HELLENIC CAPITAL MARKETS COMMISSION from April 2007 to December 2007.

Ioannis Petropoulos, FRM, completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Applied Mathematics from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon in 2007. Ioannis then pursued an I-MBA in Financial Engineering from Athens University of Economics and Business, graduating in 2009. Additionally, Ioannis Petropoulos holds certifications as a CFA Level III candidate from CFA INSTITUTE, and as a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from GARP.
