Rakesh Rajan

Global Head Of Sales - Discovery Services at Piramal Pharma Solutions

Rakesh Rajan has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Rakesh started their career in 1994 as a Trainee Microbiologist at Medilab Diagnostic Medical Laboratory. Rakesh then worked as an Application Specialist at MILLIPORE (INDIA) PVT. LTD., where they marketed lab filtration products and organized product launches and training programs for customers. From 2001 to 2002, they were a Technical Consultant and Business Development Manager at bigtec Private Limited, where they formulated market strategies and assisted in the development of clinical trial and data management software.

In 2002, Rakesh joined Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre as a Research Officer. Rakesh then worked as a Strategy Consultant at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Innovation from 2004 to 2005. From 2005 to 2007, they were a Manager of Business Development at Sami Labs Limited.

In 2007, Rakesh joined LAXAI Life Sciences as a Manager of Business Development, a role they held until 2011. During this time, they successfully managed business development activities.

Since 2011, Rakesh has been associated with Piramal Pharma Solutions, initially as a Senior Manager of Business Development and then as the Global Head of Sales - Discovery Services. Currently, they are leading the sales team for discovery services.

Rakesh Rajan holds an MBA-Distinction in Marketing and Strategy from NIMBAS, Bradford - Graduate School of Management (GB), which they received in 2004. Prior to that, they obtained an M.Sc in Microbiology from Mahatma Gandhi University, completing their degree in 1997. Their undergraduate studies were focused on Microbiology, Chemistry, and Botany, resulting in a B.Sc degree from St. Joseph's Arts and Science College in Bangalore, India, which they earned in 1994.
