Melissa provides audit and assurance services to a broad range of clients including ASX listed companies, Not-for-Profit organisations, charities and private SMEs (small-medium sized enterprise). Supporting businesses and organisations beyond statutory audits, Melissa’s diverse audit and assurance services include undertaking AFSL audits, internal audits, compliance plan audits, and providing accounting standards and financial reporting advice. Her breadth of expertise enables her to provide independent recommendations and strategic counsel, ensuring businesses and organisations are compliant with their fiduciary and statutory obligations.

As the Sydney representative on both the Pitcher Partners National Audit Review Panel and National Audit Liaison Group, and as a member of the Sydney office Risk Committee, Melissa plays an instrumental role in monitoring and improving audit quality across the entire network.

With over one-third of her client portfolio in the NFP sector, Melissa understands the industry’s challenges, risks and opportunities. Her expertise allows her to identify technical issues; resolving them through commercial solutions.

With a focus on client service and relationships, Melissa stays in regular contact with her clients to understand their broader business issues. Through candid discussions and listening to her clients, she is able to solve underlying business problems. Recently this has included assisting with the drafting of grant agreements to ensure optimal commercial and accounting outcomes for clients and the review of draft lease agreements to ensure no adverse impact from the adoption of AASB 16 Leases.

Melissa’s experience as the lead audit partner for a number of ASX listed companies and high-profile private groups including ALDI supermarkets and Colliers International, allows her to understand business challenges for an array of business structures and sizes. Her extensive experience has contributed to her abundant knowledge in both commercial insights and technical expertise, helping her to provide exemplary service to her clients.

Melissa became a Partner of the Sydney firm in 2015, having acted in a Partner capacity for a decade prior to joining Pitcher Partners.
