Katie Manukyan

Soprano at Pittsburgh Opera

Katie Manukyan serves as the Director of the Slavic, Eastern European and Near Eastern Summer Language Institute at the University of Pittsburgh, where responsibilities include coordinating an intensive summer Russian language program and teaching courses in Russian language, literature, and culture. Additionally, Katie holds the position of Teaching Associate Professor, mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students in Slavic languages and literatures. Experience also includes roles as Acting Program Director of Project GO and as a singer with the Pittsburgh Festival Opera and Pittsburgh Opera, participating in various notable productions. Educational qualifications comprise a BA in Slavic Languages and Literatures from Northwestern University and a PhD and MA in Slavic and East European Languages and Literatures from The Ohio State University.
