Alyssa Ford Heywood

Alyssa Ford Heywood, PhD, serves as the Director of Performance Management for Pittsburgh Public Schools, a role held since June 2001, where key achievements include the implementation of new performance evaluation metrics and professional growth tools aimed at enhancing accountability and measuring contributions to student success. Previously, Alyssa was Project Manager for a Federal TIF Grant and Assistant Supervisor/Program Coordinator, overseeing early childhood programs and ensuring compliance with federal and state mandates while promoting inclusiveness and child development. Earlier experience includes a role as Project Director at the Pittsburgh Council on Public Education and as an Education Counselor at the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on academic success and community resources for under-represented students. Alyssa holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Administration and Leadership Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, along with a Master’s Degree in Administration and Policy Studies from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the same institution.
