Jack Copus

SVP, Project Development, East at Pivot Energy

Jack Copus is the co-founder and current SVP of Project Development for Pivot Energy, a renewable energy company based in Maryland. Jack has over 10 years of experience in the solar industry, specializing in project development, finance, and consulting.

Jack got their start in the solar industry in 2012 with the founding of SGC Power, a company that provided finance, design, and delivery consulting services for solar projects. In 2015, SGC began developing projects for colleges, universities, and commercial and industrial organizations. In 2018, the company shifted its focus to acquiring, designing, and developing grid-tied community solar projects.

To date, Jack has been involved in over 285 projects totaling 2,845MW of solar capacity in 31 states. Jack is an expert in site acquisition, system design, interconnection design, and permitting. Jack has helped SGC Power secure financing for its projects through a variety of financial partners, enabling customers to benefit from solar energy with no up-front investment.

In their current role at Pivot Energy, Jack is responsible for leading the project development lifecycle with experienced energy experts. Jack continues to work with financial partners to provide funding for solar projects and help customers save money on their energy bills.

Jack Copus has a degree in environmental management from Towson University. Jack also attended Annapolis High School.
