Joseph Monkowski

Joseph Monkowski is currently the President & CTO at Pivotal Systems. Joseph has over 20 years of experience in software engineering, including stints at some of the biggest tech companies in the world.

Monkowski started their career at Consilium, Inc. in 1996 as a software development engineer. Joseph then moved to Optimal Networks Corp in 1998, where they worked as a senior software engineer for two years.

In 2000, Monkowski began working at Compuware Corp, where they spent a year as a senior software engineer. Joseph then left to join Sun Microsystems in 2001, where they worked as a software system engineer for a year before being promoted to software systems engineer in 2003.

Monkowski left Sun Microsystems in 2004 to join Advanced Energy Industries as their senior software engineer. Joseph held this position until June 2003, when they left to become the President & CTO at Pivotal Systems.

Joseph Monkowski received their BS in Mathematics from East China Normal University. Joseph then went on to Santa Clara University to earn their MS in Computer Engineering. Finally, they completed their Ph.D in Mathematics at Virginia Tech.
