Nicole Sawran

Senior Director, Advocacy And Public Affairs at Pivotal Ventures

Nicole Sawran has extensive work experience in various leadership and strategic roles. Nicole started their career at the United Nations Foundation in 2004 as the Deputy Director of the Better World Campaign, where they focused on legislative strategy, grassroots advocacy, coalition building, and strategic communications to support a strong U.S.-UN relationship. In 2009, they joined the United States Senate as the Deputy Staff Director of the Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee, where they served as a liaison to constituency communities and directed outreach efforts on behalf of Majority Leader Harry Reid and the Democratic caucus.

In 2010, Nicole joined The Glover Park Group as a Director, and later became Vice President and Senior Vice President. During their time there, they advised global foundations, non-profits, and multinational corporations on communications strategy, advocacy, public policy, and grantee support and coordination. Nicole also developed and managed integrated advocacy and communications campaigns on various issues, including global health and development.

Since 2018, Nicole has been working at Pivotal Ventures, first as a Program Strategy Lead, then as a Senior Lead in Program Strategy & Investment, and currently as the Director of Program Strategy & Investment. In these roles, they have been responsible for developing and implementing program strategies, as well as overseeing investments and partnerships.

Nicole Sawran obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Business from Providence College, where they studied from 1999 to 2003.
