Shane Smith

Shane Smith currently serves as the Executive Engagement Manager at Pivotal Ventures, a position held since June 2022. Prior to this role, Shane accumulated extensive experience in the Office of the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from January 2019 to June 2022, holding multiple titles including Special Assistant to the Speaker and Deputy Director of Operations. Earlier experience includes positions in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2014 to 2019, where responsibilities involved cultivating relationships with Members of Congress and managing legislative correspondence. Shane's background also features roles at George Mason University, including an Admissions Representative and Executive Editor for student media, as well as internships with the United States Senate, United States Department of Education, and Peace One Day. Shane holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University, completed in 2013.
