Dan Scanlon

VP, Creative at Pixar

Dan Scanlon is the current Vice President of Creative at Pixar. Prior to joining Pixar, Dan was a Senior Software Engineer at Fireside, where they created advanced mobile media compositing and editing features, and advised on front-end architecture best practices. Dan has also served as a Software Development Advisor at Glimpse, where they advised on the architecture of an analytics product with unique technical challenges. In addition, Dan has worked as a Consultant at XTR, where they developed flexible media content ingestion and syndication infrastructure for an upcoming documentary streaming service. Finally, prior to joining Pixar, Dan served as the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder at Mellowment, where they rebranded a stagnant alternative medicine products company with zero inventory turn into a premium health & wellness e-commerce company. In early 2019, Dan launched Mellowment's marketing program which drove demand sufficient to turn our inventory 3 times that year. At Mellowment, Dan also managed and hired a team of 6 contractors, handled B2B sales, supplier relations, e-comm, and marketing. Dan even flew to Orlando, FL to speak on camera for a TV commercial and public TV documentary feature, hosted by Lawrence Fishburne (aka Morphius from The Matrix).

Dan Scanlon completed their high school education at Souderton Area High School and went on to study at Penn State University, where they attained a Bachelor of Science in Information Science and Technology.

Dan Scanlon reports to Pete Docter, Chief Creative Officer. They work with Peter Sohn - VP, Creative, Andrew Stanton - VP, Creative .
