Louise Smythe

Louise Smythe is a skilled storyboard artist currently employed at Pixar Animation Studios since June 2012, with a background that includes a role as a story intern. Smythe has contributed to the field as a course instructor for a storyboarding class at California Institute of the Arts in early 2021, where various projects were assigned to enhance students' storytelling abilities. Prior experience includes positions as a freelance character designer at Warner Bros. Animation and S.P. Halliday, and character animation studies at CalArts. A graduate of California Institute of the Arts, Louise earned a BFA in Communication Design with a focus on illustration from Washington University in St. Louis, and has furthered education in illustration through programs at the Illustration Academy and Pratt Institute.
