Prof. Robert H. Christenson

Dr. Christenson is a Professor of Pathology and Professor of Medical and Research Technology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Clinically, Dr. Christenson is the Medical Director of the Core Laboratories and Point of Care Testing at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Academically, Dr. Christenson has published over 310 peer-reviewed papers, 6 books, 32 textbook chapters, and holds four patents. He has an active research program in the area of biomarkers with focused interests of heart disease, renal disease, oncology and stroke. His Clinical Core Research Laboratory (CCRL) has been involved in many studies aimed at achieving FDA clearance of in vitro diagnostics. He also has a long-standing interest in Evidence-Based Laboratory Medicine and has chaired both AACC and IFCC committees on this topic.
