Jeff Schmitt

Jeff Schmitt is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in power systems modeling and energy market analysis. Currently serving as the Senior Manager of Power Systems Modeling at PJM Interconnection since October 2001, Jeff has been instrumental in maintaining the Eastern Interconnection electrical model and managing the PJM model governance process. Previous roles include managerial positions overseeing real-time data management and market analysis, as well as leadership in innovative projects integrating smart grid technologies and renewable energy into the wholesale power grid. With substantial project management experience, Jeff has led critical initiatives such as the Security Constrained Economic Dispatch tool implementation and the market settlement system upgrade. Jeff's educational background includes an MBA from Penn State University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
