Ramit Kar has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Ramit started their career at ExxonMobil in 2004 as a Telecommunications Analyst. Ramit then worked at FortisAlberta as a Network Infrastructure Analyst in 2005. In 2006, Ramit co-founded CityShowtimes and served as its President. Ramit also worked as an Infrastructure Analyst at ExxonMobil during the same period. From 2009 to 2013, Ramit worked at McKinsey & Company as a Senior Engagement Manager. In 2014, they founded Kar & Company and worked as an Investor/Principal Consultant. Ramit then joined Uber in 2015 as a General Manager, where they successfully launched and scaled Uber's operations in Western Canada and secured the first set of ridesharing regulations in the country. In 2018, they joined Inovia Capital as a Board Partner. Currently, Ramit is a Co-Founder of Placeholder since 2019. Overall, they have shown a strong ability to lead, scale businesses, and drive regulatory change.

Ramit Kar completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Ivey Business School at Western University between 2008 and 2009. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Video Game Design at the University of Calgary from 2000 to 2006.
