Michael Wheeler

Michael Wheeler is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in pipeline leak detection and operations management. Currently serving as a Senior Engineer at Plains All American since January 2019, Michael specializes in implementing innovative leak detection systems for large pipeline networks, particularly in the Permian Basin. Prior to this role, Michael was a Consultant at Mingo Valley Consulting, focusing on pipeline leak detection expertise. Michael's career at BP spanned from 2004 to June 2018, where responsibilities included managing the North American Pipelines Leak Detection Program. Earlier in Michael's career, from 2000 to 2003, leadership as Manager of Simulation Systems at PanEnergy Corp, Duke Energy Corporation, and Spectra Energy involved optimizing gas transmission and pipeline capacity. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Rice University.
