Breyten van Tonder

Breyten van Tonder is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in data engineering, analytics, and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as the Director of Data, Analytics & AI at Plains Midstream Canada, Breyten previously held the position of Data & AI Specialist at Microsoft, advising strategic accounts. Breyten's tenure at WestJet included leading a multidisciplinary team as Senior Manager and Head of Data Engineering, focusing on data-driven decision-making. Other significant roles include BI & Data Engineering Management Consultant at WhereScape, Chapter Lead and Engineering Manager at ASB Bank, and various positions in business intelligence and analytics at Hewlett-Packard and Nedbank. Breyten holds a BSc in Computer Science and Informatics from the University of Johannesburg.
