Ceibal Plan
In December 2006, President Tabaré Vázquez announced that the Ceibal Plan would be launched and that with it, every student and teacher in public schools throughout the country would receive a free laptop. That was the kickoff for this ambitious socio-educational project, which puts Uruguay at the forefront in reducing the digital divide, inclusion, and equity in access to education.
