Colm Lynch

Colm Lynch is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as the Engineering Manager for Imaging Operations at Planet since August 2019, where responsibilities include leading the Imaging Operations team. Prior to this role, Colm held various positions at NUI Galway from June 2013 to October 2018, including Senior Computer Vision Software Engineer and PhD Candidate, working on enhancing image resolution in consumer thermal cameras through advanced computational methods. Colm's earlier experience includes a position as Imaging Processing Engineer at FotoNation and a summer internship at the Semiconductor Spectroscopy Laboratory at Dublin City University. Colm holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics from the University of Galway and a Bachelor of Science in Physics with Medical Physics from the same institution, along with an Irish Leaving Certificate from Coláiste Mhuire.
