Planet Reimagined
Li-Ya Mar, Ph.D., currently serves as a Research and Communication Fellow at Planet Reimagined, focusing on climate action through music advocacy. In addition, Li-Ya teaches Mandarin Chinese at Portland Community College and Portland State University, while also contributing as a Content Editor and Consultant for Inkren (Skritter.com), specializing in Chinese and Japanese language learning. As a certified yoga instructor, Li-Ya has taught various yoga styles across multiple locations in Texas and Oregon. Previous leadership experience includes serving as Chapter Chair for the Climate Reality Project Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter and as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Arlington. Li-Ya's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Linguistics with a focus on Second Language Acquisition from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Planet Reimagined is a thought and action tank, pursuing a self-produced collection of sustainability initiatives. With the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework, Planet Reimagined collaborates with individuals, businesses, nonprofits, academics, and creators to increase awareness, activism, and action in the intersectional sustainability space. Creative problem solving is the backbone of the organization; Planet Reimagined works across sectors and across genres, fostering an interdisciplinary approach to sustainable development. Current work streams include a podcast, a research and campaign fellowship, and an incentive based advertising initiative.
