Venugopal Iyengar

Venugopal Iyengar has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Venugopal currently serves as the COO, Digital at Planetcast Media Services Limited since 2022. Prior to this, they were the Chief Executive Officer at apalya technologies pvt ltd from 2020 to 2022, where they also held the position of COO, Apalya Technologies from 2013 to 2020. During their time at apalya technologies, they were responsible for running the mobile TV and video business for more than 30 partners across 11 countries.

Before joining apalya technologies, Venugopal held the role of Head, Marketing & Content at Sun Direct tv pvt ltd from 2010 to 2013. Their responsibilities included leading marketing and content functions for one of India's largest DTH services.

Venugopal's earlier experience includes working as Head of Marketing at The Walt Disney Company from 2006 to 2010, Dy Vice President of Marketing at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited in 2005, and Associate Director at MTV Networks from 2001 to 2005. Venugopal also held managerial positions at Buena Vista Television Intl, Shoppers Stop, AC Nielsen, and Mahindra & Mahindra Limited in the earlier stages of their career.

Venugopal Iyengar completed the Business Analytics program at Wharton Online in 2019. Venugopal also earned an MBA in Marketing from the Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA), Savitribai Phule Pune University from 1994 to 1996. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Production Engineering from Bharati Vidyapeeth from 1990 to 1993.
