Claudio Parrinello has extensive work experience, beginning with their time as an undergraduate student at Sapienza Università di Roma in 1982. In 1991, they became a Research Associate at Brookhaven National Laboratory in the USA. Claudio then moved to the University of Edinburgh in 1993 as a Research Scientist. In 1995, they joined the University of Liverpool as a PPARC Advanced Fellow, where they supervised postgraduate students, taught undergraduates, co-ordinated international research teams, wrote grant applications, and published several research papers on international journals. In 1999, they became the Owner and CEO of Synthesis Consulting. In 2005, they joined CERN as Head of Knowledge & Technology Transfer, Manager of HR Partnership Programmes, Head of Fellows, Associates and Student Programmes, and Deputy Head of FAS Programmes. In 2011, they became the CEO of INNOVATICS, a company providing consulting services to large companies and research institutes. In 2017, they joined Unico as CEO, where they pioneered non-fungible tokens (NFT) on the EOS blockchain to deliver enterprise-grade, NFT-enabled DApps. Finally, in 2019, they became the Chief Executive Officer of PlanetWatch.

Claudio Parrinello began their educational journey in 1969 at Scuola Elementare Montessori "Santa Maria Goretti". Claudio then attended Liceo Ginnasio "Giulio Cesare" from 1977 to 1982, where they earned their Maturità Classica. In 1982, Claudio began their Master's degree in Physics and Mathematics at Sapienza Università di Roma, which they completed in 1988. Finally, Claudio earned their PhD in Theoretical Physics from Scuola Normale Superiore in 1993.
