David Ker

David Ker has a long history of work experience in the technology industry. David began their career in 2005 as a Facilities Assistant and Systems Engineer & Audio/Video Maintenance at Bellevue Christian School. In 2010, they became the Technology Coordinator at the same school, where they managed the upgrade of the wireless infrastructure, the purchase, configuration, deployment, and training of 30+ iPads, and the configuration and deployment of 30+ new laptops. David also supported and maintained audio/visual systems, implemented a new asset tracking system, deployed a district-wide upgrade to Office 365, assisted with upgrades and maintenance of the district-wide network infrastructure, and assisted with support, management, and upgrades of security camera systems. In 2012, David started Blue Spectrum Technology, a technology consulting and support firm, where they provided technical support and consulting services to small businesses. In 2015, they joined Cozi, Inc. as a Software Developer on the Cooking Light Diet team, where they owned a large part of the development and implementation of a new site-wide UI and customer onboarding flow, led the implementation of a new entitlement system, and quickly took primary responsibility for DevOps tasks and issues. In 2018, they joined Bridge as a Full Stack Web Developer, where they built features from end-to-end with a Rails back end and a React front end. David also has a side-gig web development consulting firm, Plateau Digital, which they started in 2017. As the Owner and Developer, they have created and maintained web sites and full-stack web applications for a number of small businesses. Finally, in 2019, they joined Planning Center as a Developer.

David Ker has a diverse education history. From 2014 to 2015, they earned a Certificate in Ruby on Rails from Code Fellows. From 2011 to 2013, they obtained a BS in Information Technology - Security from Western Governors University. From 2009 to 2011, they achieved a Certificate in Information Security and Risk Management from the University of Washington. Additionally, they have obtained a number of certifications from CIW, Microsoft, CompTIA, and Cisco. These include the CIW Database Design Specialist, CIW JavaScript Specialist, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): Windows 7, Configuration, Project+, CIW Web Design Specialist, Network+, Security+, A+, CCENT, CCNA Routing and Switching, and CCNA Security.
