Katie Moody, M.A., VaPEM, CEM, serves as the Regional Emergency Preparedness Program Manager at PlanRVA since March 2018, previously holding the position of Regional Emergency Management Program Coordinator. Prior experience includes the role of Administrative and Operations Support Specialist at Richmond Ambulance Authority from July 2015 to February 2018, where responsibilities encompassed support for upper management and grant management across departments. Katie's academic background features a Master's Degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in the same field, both obtained from Virginia Commonwealth University, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Global Studies from William & Mary. Additional experience includes a Graduate Research Intern role and Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness undergraduate program at Virginia Commonwealth University.

PlanRVA is the regional planning district commission for RVA. Our Mission: “Partnering to enable outcomes that matter for our Region” Our purpose is "...to encourage and facilitate local government cooperation and state-local cooperation in addressing, on a regional basis, problems of greater than local significance. [This] cooperation facilitates the recognition and analysis of regional opportunities and takes into consideration regional influences in planning and implementing public policies and services. Our priorities are focused on issues that serve the region including: Transportation, Emergency Management, Environment, and Community Development.
