Sarin Adhikari serves as the Principal Data Manager at PlanRVA since May 2022, following a tenure as a Research Economist at the Center for Urban and Regional Analysis (CURA@VCU) from May 2016 to May 2022. Previous roles include Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Urban Studies Institute, University of Louisville, and Research Assistant at the University of Louisville, both emphasizing research design, data management, statistical modeling, data visualization, and dashboard development. Sarin's early career features positions such as Project Architect and Founding Director at Axis Design Consultants, Senior Lecturer at Kathmandu Engineering College, and various research associate roles in Nepal, contributing to urban planning and policy guidelines. Sarin holds a PhD in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of Louisville, a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

PlanRVA is the regional planning district commission for RVA. Our Mission: “Partnering to enable outcomes that matter for our Region” Our purpose is "...to encourage and facilitate local government cooperation and state-local cooperation in addressing, on a regional basis, problems of greater than local significance. [This] cooperation facilitates the recognition and analysis of regional opportunities and takes into consideration regional influences in planning and implementing public policies and services. Our priorities are focused on issues that serve the region including: Transportation, Emergency Management, Environment, and Community Development.
