Alejandra Alvarez is a Genomics Lead at The Plant Pathways Company, with previous experience at Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the University of California, Davis. As a researcher, Alejandra focused on functional characterization of genes in wheat, germplasm development, deployment of novel germplasm in field trials, and statistical analysis of large datasets. Alejandra also studied herbicide-resistance genes in wheat and conducted genetic characterization of cassava and sweet potato clones during their graduate studies at INTA and Universidad Nacional de San Martín. With a Doctorate in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, Alejandra has a strong background in genetics and molecular biology.
