John Paul Cantonwine has a strong background in mechanical engineering and has gained experience in various roles. John Paul started their career as a New Member at Pack Motorsports - Formula SAE in September 2018. From May 2019 to May 2020, they worked as a Chassis Engineer, where they designed and oversaw the manufacture of the jig assembly used to make the frame. John Paul then took on the role of Chassis Team Lead from May 2020 to July 2022, responsible for designing the chassis for the formula car and coordinating with other team members. As a Team Captain from June 2022 to May 2023, they provided leadership and coordination for the entire team.
In addition to their work at Pack Motorsports, John also gained experience as an Engineering Intern at Altec from August 2020 to August 2021. John Paul supported engineers in various tasks, such as coordinating part changes and calculating manufacturing information.
Currently, they are pursuing a role as a Mechanical Engineer at Plantd starting in June 2023.
Furthermore, in August 2021, they joined North Carolina State University as a Laboratory Assistant, where they trained students in senior design and assisted with machine operations.

John Paul Cantonwine completed their high school education at Isaac M Bear Early College High School from 2014 to 2018, earning a High School Diploma. John Paul then attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington from 2016 to 2018, where they pursued Early College studies without obtaining a specific degree. Following this, John Paul enrolled at North Carolina State University and pursued a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from 2018 to 2022. John Paul then continued their education at the same university from 2022 to 2023, working towards a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
