Sarah Monte has a diverse range of work experience. In 2013 and 2014, they volunteered as a Summer Camp Counselor at Oxford Parks and Recreation, and later became a paid counselor from 2015 to 2022. As a counselor, Sarah led weeklong general sports and tennis clinics for children aged 7 to 13.
In 2020, Sarah interned at the Oxford Parks and Recreation Department for a month. Sarah gained experience and practical knowledge in the field during this time.
From January to May 2021, Sarah worked as a Mathematics Tutor at Stovall Shaw Elementary School. Sarah developed and implemented lesson plans to enhance students' math performance through personalized one-on-one and small group tutoring both in person and virtually.
Sarah then transitioned to a role as an Undergraduate Researcher at North Carolina State University from August 2019 to May 2020. Sarah collaborated with a graduate student in the Hsiao Lab Group, studying thickness variations in homogeneous bisphenol A coatings. Sarah utilized dualscope and confocal microscope to observe these variations.
Most recently, in September 2022, Sarah joined Plantd as an Agricultural Operations Technician.
Sarah Monte obtained their Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Sustainable Engineering, Energy, and the Environment from North Carolina State University. Sarah attended from 2017 to 2021. Prior to their undergraduate studies, they graduated from J.F. Webb High School of Health and Life Sciences in 2017.
Sarah is currently pursuing their Master of Science (MS) in Chemical Engineering at North Carolina State University, starting in 2021 and expected to complete in 2023.
In addition to their formal education, Sarah also obtained a certification in F.E. Chemical Engineering from the NCEES in April 2022.
