Staton Michaels has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. They started their career in 2016 as an intern at Dominion Energy, where they gained experience in maintenance, operations, and engineering at a natural gas-fired power plant. In 2017, they worked as a machinist at Brooks Racing Engines, focusing on precise work and meeting production deadlines. In 2018, they interned at John Deere, specializing in design and analysis of components and assemblies for engine packages. From 2016 to 2019, they were a powertrain team member at Wolfpack Motorsports, leading projects in designing and developing powertrain systems for Formula SAE racing competitions. In 2019, they joined Caterpillar Inc. as an associate engineer, later being promoted to senior associate engineer. In this role, they were responsible for designing hydraulic system installation components, managing assembly planning, and conducting engineering audits. In 2022, they joined Plantd as a responsible engineer. Staton Michaels completed a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Graphic Communications from North Carolina State University between 2015 and 2019.
