Chris Phillips

VP of Research at Plantible Foods

Chris Phillips has an extensive work experience in biochemistry and research. Chris started their career in 2004 as a Molecular Biology Intern at Dow AgroSciences (now Corteva). In 2006, they worked as a Product Support Scientist at Seradyn Diagnostics (acquired by ThermoFisher Scientific). From 2007 to 2012, they held two roles at UC Berkeley, first as a Post-doctoral fellow and then as a Ph.D. candidate, NSF Fellow, and Molecular and Cell Biology. From 2012 to 2022, they worked at bp in various roles, including Strategy & Economics Advisor - Renewables & Bioenergy, Principal Scientist - Bioproducts Technology Manager, Senior Scientist - Protein Engineering, and Scientist - Enzyme Assay Development & Screening. Chris is currently working at Plantible Foods as the VP of Research and Head of Biochemistry.

Chris Phillips attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Prior to that, they obtained a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Dayton between 2001 and 2005.
