Maggie Weitzman

Maggie Weitzman is a molecular biologist and Director of Special Research Projects with expertise in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies. They hold a Master of Science in Biology (Mycology) and have over a decade of experience in biological, chemical, and technical research and analysis across both academic and industrial settings. At the University of Oregon, Maggie served as a Research Assistant in the Genomics & Cell Characterization Core Facility and as a Lecturer in the Bioinformatics & Genomics Masters Program. They have authored numerous technical papers, trained graduate students, and mentored undergraduate researchers. Additionally, Maggie has previously held positions at companies including Allergan Medical, Medtronic Neurosurgery, and UC Berkeley, and is actively involved in personal research interests that focus on mycology, ecology, and environmental chemistry.
