Olja Barbir is a System Engineer at Plasser & Theurer Export von Bahnbaumaschinen G.m.b.H. since June 2021, after serving as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Vienna University of Technology's Institute of Geotechnics from January 2015 to December 2020. In this role, Olja contributed to the fields of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering and led the project on the development of a condition-based tamping process in railway engineering. Prior experience includes work as a Developer of Legalization Projects at IN-VISO in 2012-2013. Olja holds a Doctor of Science degree from the Technische Universität Wien, alongside a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Rijeka, and completed a Student Exchange program in Civil Engineering at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna.
