We're Gerard Toplass and Gerard Gibbons.

Two lifelong music obsessives brought together by a shared frustration with how hard it's become to support the people who actually make the music happen.

Indie, punk, new wave. That's our world. We're at gigs most weeks, deep in the grassroots scene, not just watching it but backing it. Gerard Gibbons started out in bands and still believes the best music happens in small venues (he doesn't like the big ones). Gerard Toplass built his career in tech, creating platforms that solve real problems.

We run podcasts, support artists, and champion venues. We love to support the work of the Music Venue Trust and great local events like SESH in Hull.

We built Play One We Know because the system isn't working. Too many artists are being priced out. Too many venues are under pressure. And without change, the next generation of music is at risk.

Gerard T's all about The Stone Roses. GG's Joy Division. We both love Spangled.

So we have decided to do something about it.
