Joy Spafford

Joy Spafford is an accomplished tax professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles within the tax departments of multiple companies. Currently serving as Tax Director at Playa Hotels & Resorts since May 2019, Joy previously held the position of Tax Manager at ViaSat, Inc., from January 2013 to May 2019. Additional experience includes serving as Tax Director at Zodiac Pool Systems, Inc., and Senior Tax Manager at Bumble Bee Foods LLC. Joy began a distinguished career at Ernst & Young, where Joy worked as Tax Senior Manager from July 1992 to April 2009, following an earlier role as Tax Manager at KPMG from 1988 to 1992. Joy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, earned between 1983 and 1988.
