Alex Birsh has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Alex started their career as a Broadcaster/Assistant Director Media Relations for the Holyoke Blue Sox, an NECBL Team, in 2009. Alex then moved on to the Keene Swamp Bats, another NECBL Team, where they served as a Broadcaster/Assistant Director Media Relations from 2010 to 2011.

Following this, Alex worked as a Reporter for Main Street Connect's TheDailyBedford.com, covering various local topics from town government to regional sports coverage. Alex joined Sirius XM Radio Inc. in 2013 as an Audio Editor, responsible for cutting audio clips for immediate use in their sports programming and update spots.

In 2012, Alex worked for Major League Baseball in multiple roles, first as a Productions Logger where they logged tapes and prepped video and audio for editing, and then as a Content Assistant involved in producing and approving videos published on MLB.com and partner websites.

From 2014 to 2016, Alex worked for The Topps Company in various roles, including Associate Project Manager, Producer, Host of Topps Talk, and Community Manager for Topps Digital. Alex closely monitored pre-press production, managed project priorities, motivated team members, and maintained records and files for Sports and Entertainment products.

Since 2016, Alex has been associated with Playbill, initially as the Vice President & Chief Digital Officer, and later promoted to Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in October 2020.

Alex Birsh completed their high school education at Riverdale Country School from 1995 to 2007, earning a high school diploma. Following this, they attended Quinnipiac University from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism.
